In our production environment we utilize AWS Firewall Manager. Our organization uses AWS Firewall Manager to assist with the management of our varying AWS accounts. AWS Firewall Manager addresses several business problems for us. One of the problems that AWS Firewall Manager addresses is it helps protect resources like CloudFront distributions.
  • Cost
  • Ease of use
  • Integration
  • User Interface
  • Reliability
AWS Firewall Manager is well suited for cloud environments that have a lot to manage and maintain. If you have a smaller scale cloud environment or on premise setup this may not be for you.

Amazon Web Services Firewall Manager is being used by our organization to manage the firewall settings across different user groups throughout our company. It has helped to simplify the administration of firewall settings for both onsite and remote workers. It also provides built-in protection from various types of DDoS attacks.
  • Centralize administration
  • Automatic protection
  • Cross-account protection
  • It could provide more tutorials
  • More training documents
AWS Firewall Manager is well suited for situations where you have multi-account resource groups. In this situation Firewall Manager allows you to group resources by account, resource type, and by tag. It is also well suited for use with AWS Organizations and can automatically load the list of accounts from your AWS organization to allow you to group resources across different accounts. You would not get all of the advantages of Firewall Manager if you did not also use AWS Organizations.

we start using WAF when there's a specific requirement that came into OUR organization when Accounts / Marketing / Design teams want their OWN account to store documents. then we moved the IT account to the organization & add all other accounts in OUR organization. then requirements CAME up how to control all these accounts security & this job was HARD because going into every account to manage security & other things very difficult so we plan to USE AWS Firewall manager to control security & access from one Parent Rule ( like Allow dis-allow IP for specific applications like ALB etc. ) but this cost $100 + what u need our total was around $107 NOT expensive as spending hours
  • control specific application access based on IP address's
  • you can control single RULE to control account under organization
  • lille complex for people use first time
  • need improvement in documentation
if your company has different departments & everyone want an AWS account independently. but the company wants to give them specific Security Guidelines & RULE then use AWS Firewall Manager

We utilize the AWS Firewall Manager to manage firewall rules and managing group view. The Information Technology department manage all the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) rules for the publication of firewalls rules. We also developed a User Interface (UI) and a set of tools for our end users to interact and to easily configure each individual AWS firewall. The AWS Firewall Manager is our one stop solution.
  • Intuitive interface
  • Real-time logs
  • Small scale only, and not large enterprise
At this point the AWS Firewall Manager is sufficient for our small-scale enterprise needs. AWS Firewall Manager is perfect solution for a company that do not utilize any software or application that will generate large loads of traffics. It is a straight forward process to create an initial configuration and ease of use. We also developed portals related to the HR department, in particular the recruitment in combination with other AWS services, such as app servers, DNS servers, web servers, and S3 buckets.

We deploy enterprise cloud solutions in AWS and having a firewall is critical in defending against modern-day cyber threats.
  • Filters internet traffic using features such as Access Control Lists (ACL) rules, stateful inspection, protocol detection, and intrusion prevention.
  • Logically separate networks hosting sensitive applications or line-of-business workloads.
  • AWS Firewall Manager supports thousands of rules that can filter out network traffic destined for known bad IP addresses or known bad domain names.
  • The user interface could be improved. Whilst it is something you can adapt to, we come from a Microsoft background and there is definitely a learning curve. This is not a bad thing, it's just different.
I would heavily recommend a firewall to protect any cloud-based infrastructure no matter the size. AWS Firewall Manager is a leader in the cloud firewall space, and being part of the AWS suite it is backed by a great support team should you need any assistance. No matter how big your company is you should consider AWS Firewall Manager.

AWS Firewall Manager is a centralized location for AWS Organization managed accounts to centralize the management of the network security of AWS accounts in a single location. Centralizing the management allows for faster and more effective review of policies and easier verification of compliance goals. Issues are also easier to remediate from a centralized location.
  • Centralized control of AWS account network policies
  • Compliance goals can be met and validated from a single scan
  • Deeper integration into the AWS Organizations system for multi-account management
  • Depends on AWS Config Rules, so the costs scale with implementing & managing another service
  • Terraform for Firewall Management is basically just JSON policies, needs to be more configurable outside of JSON
  • Pricing seems high for the service offered
While working inside of AWS, AWS Firewall Manager is a great service for assuring network security in multi-account environments using AWS Organizations where network security is critical. Being able to centrally manage not only ingress rules but also egress rules allows for networks to block inbound and outbound flows from a centralized point.

AWS Firewall Manager is a tool we have been using to protect our applications. It has a diversity of features meant to ensure security. It has provided us with the most straightforward configuration management by using APIs. Its features convinced us to introduce it into our organization's application department. It has some constant sort of security limitations and its support team’s charges are way too high in some circumstances.
  • AWS Firewall Manager is very easy to operate it in the first place unlike other software of this type.
  • I highly adore the ease it provides in configuration management by API
  • It provides protection to the applications from diverse forms of attacks.
  • Its Support team charges are extremely high depending on the case.
  • It has a limit to set up rules.
With AWS our applications can run as they are anticipated. It is recommended if someone wants to secure applications from any kind of cyber attack. For some of the particular sort of attacks, it might not work so well as expected. Its capability is enhanced more if used along with AWS tools.
