Overall Satisfaction with Panopto
We specifically purchased Panopto to be used by our faculty. Generally, the staff does not use it unless they have training material to create. Our faculty uses it to record in-person lectures so the students can review them at a later date. In our online-only classes, the faculty uses Panopto to deliver their lectures. In a few cases, faculty are using it for student assignments as well as to check the comprehension of the material.

- Panopto has given faculty the ability to use previously recorded lectures in the event they are unable to teach (illness, travel etc).
- Panopto has allowed the administration to monitor class lectures without being visibly present in the class.
At the end of the day, it came down to affordability for us. Panopto is affordable for smaller institutions. It is also geared primarily at lecture capture compared to many of the others that are first a media library. Panopto's focus is also education, so they do understand our audience.
