Overall Satisfaction with Patriot Software

The whole team uses Patriot. The team mostly uses Patriot to track pledges and donations. We also use it to keep up to date records of contact information to pull mailing lists, send thank you and tax letters, and contact prospective donors.

Pros

  • Giving multiple ways to pull data
  • Holding donation profiles
  • Maintaining donor profiles and showing all changes to contact information

Cons

  • Connecting with outside software - we have an issue of Patriot not recognizing donors when connected to other websites when all the information is the same minus a middle initial
  • Giving an error page when something small is off. Instead of giving an easy to fix error notification, Patriot brings the user to an error page and they have to reenter everything.
  • Fixing dates easily. If a date is entered incorrectly, 8/13/21 instead of 2021, an error pop up appears but the user has to click enter/okay many times or refresh the page in order to fix this issue.
  • Enter vs Tab key - Patriot loves the tab key but if the user clicks enter instead, many times it brings them to the home page.
  • Patriot allows the entire team to be on the same page when it comes to a campaign or donor. All of the information is in one place to see how much a donor gave or communication with that donor by a specific team member.
  • It provides comparative historic data and donor analysis. The organization of donations by appeal allows teams to know which campaigns were successful in previous years.

It is very user friendly and straightforward. The software can be finicky in certain situations but overall it is easy to navigate. The design is clean and simple so users can find what they need without an extensive search. The tabs on top of the page are organized and assist with the ease of using the software.
Our company uses an outside person for our tech support. He is able to fix our issues quickly. We have not directly contacted Patriot for software support.
Patriot is an overall simple system to use. It is great for storing profiles and sorting donations. There are many helpful searching options to narrow the search (state, city, email) which is extremely useful if you have multiple people in your system with the same name.
