Overall Satisfaction with PitchBook

We use PitchBook to assess comparable transaction in VC deals, we use it to check the fundraising status of several startups, we use it to evaluate performances of other co-investors and we use it to map new startups coming from relevant accelerator program. Sometime we use it to check the founders of other startups

We had a very useful first training at the very beginning. They helped us get onboarded and set up a first dashboard for us. They also offered to set up some alerts for us, this is useful when you are new on the platform. The customer service was always very responsive
We usually ask them to update data on deals where we invest in, this make me question about the overall relability of the data. This said, I believe there is not a single source of truth for private market deals. We use it for comparable transaction, I believe data gets better when you look at deals from Series A and beyond
The platform is simple to use. The filters can became very articulate and handle very complex queries on their incredibly big database. I believe that the platform has a learning curve but after a few weeks playing with it everything gets pretty straightforward. At the end of the day is a platform aimed for technical users.

We believe it's a valuable tool for scout new startups, it's useful especially when you want to look for new startups in geographical locations where you don't have a big personal network. It's also useful when you want to see the performance of other VC funds and compare it to others
