Overall Satisfaction with PlanGrid

PlanGrid is being used to upload project drawings, subcontractor scopes of work, job lists, etc., for use by field staff. All team members access PlanGrid to review the most current drawing revisions. The sheets that are uploaded are used as a means to mark as-built changes. The marked-up drawings are exported at the end of the project to be used as our Project As-Built Drawings (final project drawings).
  • When you upload a new revision to a sheet that is already on the site, PlanGrid automatically adds the sheet to the top and pulls any mark-ups from previous sheets to the new sheet.
  • PlanGrid is extremely user friendly with the opportunity to mark-up drawings in any way needed.
  • There are a variety of mark-up options, with a variety of colors and it is easy to distinguish which team members has edited which comment.
  • The main drawback of PlanGrid is the limit of 500 sheet uploads. We have had to upgrade most of our team members in order to let them upload more sheets for multiple projects.
  • The overall design of the website could be more modern (i.e. - bigger and more modern text/font and the PDF's created are very plain and need a facelift).
  • We have used other online, cloud-based products for sharing drawings and other project documents but they did not work as seamlessly with our internal programs as PlanGrid.
  • PlanGrid is much more user-friendly compared to other cloud-based websites we have tried.
  • PlanGrid has more capabilities than other cloud-based websites we have tried which allows us to communicate changes easier and more efficiently.
PlanGrid is a great tool for commercial construction as it serves as an efficient communication of drawings and project documents between the office and field. It can also be used as a tool to communicate with subcontractors, owners, architects, etc.
