Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use PlanGrid to manage the construction administration phase of our projects.

Pros and Cons

PlanGrid allows us to easily track drawing updates throughout the project process.
The ability to comment and include photos, keyed into the plans, allows us to communicate with the contractor in real time to resolve construction issues as they arise.
PlanGrid is the most effective way to manage the creation, evaluation, and resolution for punch lists that we have found.

Sheet number recognition can be improved to streamline the upload of large sets of drawings.
Including a function to allow collaboration - similar to Basecamp - would be helpful. That would allow PG to be used in all phases of project development.

Return on Investment

PlanGrid has allowed us to save time creating and documenting punch lists, communicating punch list issues to owners and contractors, and tracking the punch list to completion.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is best suited for the punch list phase of the project. It is less appropriate during the design phases of a project.
