Overall Satisfaction with Progress Sitefinity
We use Sitefinity for our main public website. Around 50 people across our organisation are trained to author content, and a smaller subset of those users (around 10) are setup as superusers who can approve, manage and delete other users' content and restructure the site as needed. We moved to Sitefinity in 2015 after we identified a need for a more modern content management system, allowing us to work more quickly and effectively, and taking advantage of advanced personalisation and analytics features that weren't previously available to us.
- User friendly interface - easy for users to understand the WYSIWYG/drag and drop editing screen
- Fully featured in terms of managing media assets including images, structural assets and templates for the site, and all types of text-based content
- Fully supports deployment to Microsoft Azure cloud hosting, which we have adopted due to extreme peaks in load.
- Additional and more advanced personalisation tools would be useful (specifically in-page personalisation).
- Sitefinity has one "Administrator" level security role with access to everything; it would be very useful if this were broken down further.
Ultimately, Sitefinity won over the competitor products in three key areas - price, ease of use and ease of extension/integration.
