Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Progress Sitefinity is primarily used by our IT Department. As a Content Management System, it allows our small staff to maintain and manage our website very efficiently.

Pros and Cons

The backend interface is very intuitive and easy to use.
There are many customization options and features.
I like the ability to add plug-ins and other widgets.

Granted we are using an older version (so this may have been corrected), but when viewing the HTML in the text editor, it doesn't format or display the code well.

When we were evaluating whether to use WordPress or Sitefinity, WordPress was experiencing many security problems. Also, being a .NET shop, we were better able to integrate with Sitefinity. Finally, Sitefinity seemed much easier to use and to teach others.

Likelihood to Recommend

We are a small local government organization, so I can't speak for larger, private sector implementations, but it has made the life of our small IT staff so much easier. We can update, add and remove content so efficiently. We may be small, but our website has a lot of content and features. Sitefinity makes maintenance a breeze.
