Overall Satisfaction with Proofpoint Email Protection

Proofpoint is used to process incoming and outgoing email for Canisius. The spam/malware protection is essential to ensuring our email infrastructure is operating at a high rate of efficiency. The data it collects allows us to investigate issues and track trends.

Pros

  • Smart search addon is an amazing tool that allows us to track the flow/processing of an email
  • Spam scoring is very good
  • Recently added ability to look at dmarc/spf/dkim for validating emails

Cons

  • Would like the ability to create custom queries in smart search
  • Reports need improvement...ability to create a custom report would be nice
  • ROI is mostly in time saved. It is easy to manage and provides very good spam scoring that enable end users to efficiently handle their email.
Our organization is mid-sized and has generally had a centralized infrastructure for handling inbound/outbound email. Proofpoint would be a good fit for this type of organization.
