Overall Satisfaction with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

In our organization, We use Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) to provide applications and services.

Pros

  • It's robust
  • It has commercial support from Vendors.
  • It's stable.

Cons

  • In my previous role, I supported AIX on IBM Power HW. I have concerns that Red Hat's acquisition by IBM will cause the product to become worse by introducing HW lock-in.
I gave Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) this usability rating because, in my experience, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) is more functional out-of-the-box than Microsoft's offerings.
