We feel comfortable with any linux distribution. Sometimes the decision about using one or other linux distribution is related to the cost of subscriptions, level of criticity of the system, and support requirements. We always chose Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Linux for critical applications that require fast support in case of an incident.

It supports everyday operational functions such as handling customer requests, processing transactions, managing account data, and coordinating services between different internal applications. Its role is mainly to provide a stable runtime for these banking workloads.
