Overall Satisfaction with Red Hat OpenShift on IBM Cloud
We have used OpenShift cluster to install IBM Cloud Pak software. Cloud Pak was provisioned in the IBM Cloud. This was quick and painless.
Pros
- Ease of provisioning
- Time to market
- Operated by IBM
- IBM relationships with RedHat
Cons
- Price could be lower
- Ability to create OpenShift cluster for free (testing)
- Customer didn't have any outages running OpenShift cluster over a year
- Could be more expensive than plain Kubernetes but value is more
Red Hat OpenShift on IBM Cloud is best when it comes to security capabilities and hybrid scenarios. With Red Hat OpenShift on IBM Cloud we could provision new environments very quickly and in cost effective way. Customers could also use the cloud credits that they might have lowering the overall TCO. Works great in tandem with other IBM Cloud offerings.

- IBM API Connect
Having to deploy IBM API Connect it is very easy and straightforward to deploy it on top of Red Hat OpenShift on IBM Cloud. IBM API Connect being a part of IBM Cloud Pak for Integration is a few clicks away from deploying it using the operator approach. Having the possibility to easily upgrade the IBM API Connect is an additional benefit of having it deployed on top of Red Hat OpenShift on IBM Cloud.
