Overall Satisfaction with SAP Business Network
We use SAP Business Network as supplier for our customers to receive orders, create OCs and SESs as well as INV.
Pros
- Distributing Orders
Cons
- User experience esp. in the area of sourcing suite integration
- Upload features for documents (CSV are cumbersome!!!)
- guiding for supplies in case of Quick Enablement
- Error messages and handling of rejected documents for suppliers
- stability of website / being kicked out, if you click too quickly
- UI simplification for suppliers not possible (remove not needed fields)
- speed and/or stability of document exchange (queueing takes sometimes "ages")
- visibility of "sub-account" documents from master account missing
- for suppliers with catalogs the binding of customer is higher
- as supplier, I do not have any ROI for integration to SAP Business Network (just costs)
- change management on both sides (buyer and supplier) is always underestimated
- buyer and supplier need admin to monitor SAP Business Network additionally
unfortunately, in my opinion, there is no big benefit. The other way round, in my experience, often a sent invitiation from buyer (e.g. SLP or sourcing) is not working first time (errors trying logging into the event) and a lot of communication and resending is needed to make it work.
no, visibility is mostly covered in other systems, since not all transactions are/can be done using SAP Business Network. It is in reality just a part of the cake. So for an overall view other systems need to be used to have the whole picture.
