Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use SAP Business Network to transact with our largest customers, its brings both the customer and supplier significant benefits and alleviates manual processing of orders, invoices etc

Pros and Cons

Pros

Process Purchase orders and invoices seamlessly
Great dashboards and user experience

Cons

Reporting can be challenging to setup and get what you need
Different order status can he hard to read
Ability to process manual invoices vs requiring a PO flip, should have a build in OCR scanner

Return on Investment

Allowed us to reduce the amount of heads that process orders and invoices, when we can have those customers setup on cXML
High costs, especially since we moved to a variable model.

Collaboration with Trading Partners

Our largest customers are cXML integrated for PO, Invoice, ASN, Order confirmation etc, this brings us significant savings in terms of manual staff effort and focus on more strategic activities

Usability

Its good but there is still room for improvement on the UI and dashboards, more API's and ability to scan PDFs to automate purchase order entry and PO flip

Coupa

Similar but Coupa has less features and simpler to navigate for first time users

Well suited to large integrations which we can automate and integrate

Not well suited to small customers that require manual PO processing and PO Flip invoicing, there should be a way to automate small customers without integration. Other platforms are using AI and scanning technology to do this for Purchase orders and invoices
