Overall Satisfaction with SAP Business Technology Platform

Our organization uses all our business with SAP including ERP. Financial reporting, analysis, all accounting, travel, and procurement, budget etc. I am specialized in the financial analysis and accounting. We are generating all financial information including BS, IS and CF all other relevant accounting data. I use SAP to approve all transactions and user profile etc.

Pros

  • All financial data capture
  • Abilities to customize the functionality

Cons

  • Not user friendly as out system is not cloud base yet
  • Standard functionality have limitation
  • POsitive- could transition our complicated system to SAP basis
  • Negative- standard functionality has limitation thus requires a lot of intervention
As our old SAP was not supported, we changed to the new general GL standard product with some customization program. However, as it is not supported any longer, we also need to consider next move. The new enhanced SAP has a lot of standard functionality which is helpful. The caveat is these enhanced functionality to packaged separate.

SAP is excellent system for the large and complicated institutions to cover many different aspect of the business. However, it would be difficult for smaller organization with the limited budget as it requires a lot of maintenance issues. Implementations very complicated and costs a lot. As SAP is a huge organization, there are communication problem among SAP team.
