Overall Satisfaction with SAP Business Technology Platform
We use SAP Business Technology Platform as main platform driver for transformation in a long term (7 years) project, also used in AMERICA for other smaller projects.
Pros
- Integration with native products and non-SAP
- Integrated business process
- Integrated data model
- Financials going deeper and deeper improving business processes to easy reporting.
Cons
- Integration with other systems.
- CDS are still to be a bit simpler.
- Time to market, it seems SAP is coming to the market creating expectations with products that are still under development, placing SAP professionals in a difficult position to develop and implement.
- Reusability and end of maintenance is some times blurry and given the under developments products released looks like not ready for it. Caution would be appreciate it!
- Integration and connectivity has come to be less time consuming
- Connectivity is an easy thing to handle, which is appreciate it.
- Native integration makes life easier in every sense, about all reducing development time.
I have seen but not used the use cases
The integration between both platform is easy to handle, SAC is a smaller product to provide insights and all the reporting necessary for every level of business meanwhile SAP Business Technology Platform is the platform as a whole to provide digital services across IT areas.

Using SAP Business Technology Platform
30 - Technical teams mostly IT who alongside me we are creating, designing, reinforcing and putting governance practices in our infrastructure from BTP. This for now includes: authentication processes, activation of services, deployment of new services, workflows that facilitate cross application integrations among others. Not limited to that, we also have now a high number of integrations being managed from SAP Integration Suite.
5 - SAP Operation managers: skilled around the whole SAP Ecosystem plus business processes occurring all along at the same time we manage BTP.
SAP Basis team: with technical skills mostly used to work with connectivity items, highly technical configurations, tracing.
SAP Integration lead: rolling as BTP admins, with managerial skills but also very technical skills to deploy services and track issues when required.

- Authentication reinforced with ENTRA and CIS on the top.
- For ABAP Developments in line with Clean Core requirements/designing.
- To implement SAP Build and its embedded automations.
