Overall Satisfaction with SAP Business Technology Platform

We used the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) platform to integrate with the SAP Customer Data Cloud (CDC). This was used in conjunction with the AWS Lambda function as well. We had the BTP platform calculate a set of user authorization to apps within the organization. The SAP BTP platform was a cockpit for the admin to use when checking users' rights and also was used to allow the admin to configure a number of different items.

Pros

  • Allowed us to quickly develop and release a custom platform for our client
  • Provided excellent documentation for our developers to be able to quickly pick up BTP
  • Runs efficiently, scales well
  • Easy to use BTP admin cockpit as well

Cons

  • Provide better SAP support
  • Decreased build times
  • Improved integration between different platforms
  • Scalability issues easily addressed
We built a custom entitlement calculation engine for our users based on specific products owned by the customer. The admin was able to quickly configure different rules across many markets.
I have seen but not used the use cases
We preferred to use SAP BTP over AWS here. In terms of cost, scalability, reliability it was an easy decision for our organization

SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) is well suited for custom needs that there may not be a out of box solution. This worked really well for us. Was overall impressed with the capabilities that were offered.
