Overall Satisfaction with SAP Data Warehouse Cloud

Empowering Business With SAP Data Warehouse CloudWith SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, we now have a tool that lets us connect the right person to the right data with a few clicks of a button. Our front-end developers and business analysts will have access to the data they need in a modeling environment that does not require deep technical knowledge. Ultimately, we want to make the experience simple for business users and enable them to access content via SAP Analytics Cloud regardless of the underlying data sources. This kind of standardization is essential in large organizations like ours. The first point which draw our attention is how easy was to make use of the tool. Power users with no experience whatsoever managed to build solutions in a couple of hours. Second is the enablement of Live SQL connection towards SAC, this was considered a major gap in SAC however now we make use of DWC to overcome that gap. The third point is DWC brought the possibility to cover all modeling gaps we used to face when using only SAC and on top of that now we have the ability to code precisely what we need. The possibilities are close to endless!

Pros

  • Connect data across multi-cloud and on-premise repositories in real-time while preserving business context
  • Get insights into real-time data and analyze all types of structured, unstructured, and geospatial data with in-memory speed
  • Accelerate implementation with pre-integrated database, data warehouse, data intelligence, data lake, and analytics capabilities
  • Reuse your existing BW models, transformations, and customizations with the BW bridge option. Accelerate time to value and capitalize on existing investments.

Cons

  • Application development is not supported in SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, SAP BW bridge. Any app-building should be done “natively” using the SAP BTP app-building on SAP HANA, for that customers need to license and use the stand-alone version of SAP BTP.
  • Customers do not have the option to connect with SAP GUI to SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, SAP BW bridge.
  • Queries are not supported.
  • It allows us to centralize our most relevant data.
  • It allows us to centralize our most relevant data.
  • Retrieval of large data is slow
The analytics provided are advanced for an out-of-the-box solution. Monitoring and allocation of resources are simplified as well. No security issues encountered yet.

SAP Data warehouse Cloud is one of the best tools to create, manage, and update inventories of company resources and make major data-related decisions a lot easier. It is great to have if any organization has large inventory assets to record and manage at their disposal and it would be a must-have tool for large business firms depending on IT data resources. Not appropriate for small-scale businesses.
Transferred data marts from their classic SAP BW systems to the data warehouse cloud. On the one hand, reporting is accelerated by replicating the SAP BW data due to the switch to the HANA cloud. Plus, I could get a very modern front end with the (embedded) Analytics Cloud.
