Overall Satisfaction with SAP Field Service Management

We are implementation partners and are working on prebuilt solutions. Our present use case k s around energy and utility industry. Mainly assigning jobs to technicians

Pros

  • Front end is good and user friendly
  • Drag and drop functionality for assignment work nice
  • As it is a mobile product so the user can work on phone also

Cons

  • Middleware e.g. CPI needs to be more smooth
  • There are two different type of configurations for service orders and maintenance order. It should be similar/ in sync
  • Creation f user is a bit complex
  • Initial config is not documented in good manner. We hot in to many issues and document did not hep us
  • AS OF NOW THERE IS NO ROI
SAP Field Service Management could be a good tool to use if the initial setup, replication and user Saket up could be improved

Using SAP Field Service Management

15 - They are consultants and generally helping client in implementing FSM
18 - To support the tool one should have knowledge of SAP- PM/CS/SD and CPI
  • Dispatching schedules to Field service representatives
  • Checking and assigning work to field representatives
  • Updating the backend solution with updates from field representative
  • Integrating backend S/4 system to FSM
  • Assigning work to field representatives to
  • scheduling work in FSM
  • Informing field representatives of the routes and efficient ways to plan their work
Though it is good tool but still having issues with stability and need good amount of technical support to implement
