Overall Satisfaction with SAP S/4HANA Cloud

[SAP S/4HANA Cloud] is being used by us for [the] staging of all of our major ERP products (FI, HR, SD). It gives us up to the minute info via its real-time reporting. One of the major advantages is that it is much more simple to configure. You can cut months compared to an implementation of ECC and or BW.

Pros

  • The integration of BW now BW/4 HANA is much easier. Models are simple.
  • SAP S/4HANA Cloud comes with a built-in version of BW. Be careful as this is not BW/4 HANA. It is embedded for other purposes.
  • IP has been reworked with all planning coming together.
  • Business people will have to be more involved [than] in the [past] for migrations.

Cons

  • The planning must be better explained to customers. Many don't understand that you need a strong foundation in IP.
  • Some products have multiple names or [processes] have multiple [solutions]. I [have] seen this being resolved tho. Getting better.
  • It [allows] us to do more with less in regards to development staff.
  • It has engaged the business more as they are more required to ensure [the] system is stable.
  • It allowed us to save money due to retired hardware.
I think this product is the best on the market for what it does. It has set the standard for the next generation of ERP products going forward. Others will be forced to catch up or get out of the market spaces as [SAP S/4HANA Cloud] is clearly the leader in the space.
[SAP S/4HANA Cloud] is the complete system and the base for all things going forward. A single point of truth, Ex is how FI/CO has been merged together into one table. This reduces the time for consolidation at the end of the month. Can have these reports within minutes.

[SAP S/4HANA Cloud] is well suited to bring together structured data and real-time reporting. SAP people [are] making great progress in [bringing] together non-statured data; however, this still needs work as integration can be somewhat of a challenge. The DataHub and PI/PO [have] matured nicely and [are] really ready for prime time.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Support

Things move so fast that sometimes it seems that it is even hard for SAP support to catch up in regard to the system. However, this is just not on SAP. Customers should take the time to do internal training; because [SAP S/4HANA Cloud] is not an upgrade. It is a migration to a new product.
