Overall Satisfaction with SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Company runs most of the back office processes on the SAP S/4HANA Cloud System. For Example: Global Financials, Indirect Procurement, Manufacturing and planning all are on SAP

Pros

  • The interoperability that it provides to support the extensibility with other non-SAP Systems is extremely helpful to build an ecosystem where SAP and Non-SAP Applications can establish a business process and co-exist well
  • SAP S/4HANA Cloud provides much better availability and Performance than the On-Prem instance where the local teams needs to constantly worry about unplanned outages and performance and DR

Cons

  • Although SAP S/4HANA Cloud is a great system of record and supports multiple business processes, the user experience through GUI or Fiori is still not there. Our users still find working with SAP particularly hard and time consuming. I would like to see roadmap for the UX improvements that can help the customers adopt the system well
  • SAP S/4HANA Cloud has helped the business objective of standardization across the globe not just at the technical level but at the business process level as well.
The backend system is good and have a solid data model however the UX has a long way to go. As I said previously, the users find it hard to engage with the processes either through the GUI or Fiori

SAP S/4HANA Cloud is well suited for the companies that can run their systems with the hyperscalers in a commercial cloud setting. However, particularly for the A&D customers who fall in the SMB segment, running S/4HANA Cloud becomes a pain point from the cost perspective due to ITAR and other Regulatory compliance.
