Overall Satisfaction with SAP S/4HANA Cloud

We implement SAP S/4HANA Cloud at different customers in different industries. Business problems typically involve fit-to-standard practices, where the customers typically have different requirements than what is possible in S/4HANA Cloud. Examples are in Production (split batch functionalities) and Warehouse, where the scanning functionalities seem insufficient sometimes and custom developments are needed (via BTP).

Pros

  • User interface (Fiori)
  • Integrated processes/solution
  • Standardize way of working

Cons

  • Not easy to develop in Public Cloud
  • Industry specific needs not always supported, e.g. shopfloor or recipe management in a food production company
  • Training material for end users
  • Reduced personnel costs due to less admin repetitive tasks
  • Standardized processes/approach toward suppliers & customers
  • Automated invoicing -> increased efficiency of lead to cash process
- Fiori interface modernized
- Analytics embedded clear added value compared to what we had in the past (ECC)
- Standardized processes, easy to understand, BPMN flows available -> time to implement decreases
- Regular updated/innovations with new functionalities regularly
- Security - SAP takes care of it (Cloud)

With the modern user interface Fiori, everything is way more easy to use compared to what we had in the past with GUI transactions in ECC. With role based authorizations added to Fiori, one can personalize his view and tiles he needs on a daily basis, from executive management to end users and everything in between.

- Public Cloud well suited for smaller companies who want to standardize
- Private Cloud for more established companies where custom developments are beneficial
Not ideal for:
- Data Migration is extensive, even when moving from ECC to Cloud, as standard as possible
- Industry specific needs not always covered in Public Cloud
