Overall Satisfaction with SAP S/4HANA Cloud

This solution is used as the full enterprise suite. There are issues with the use of Universal Journal and BSEG as it relates to the open items and inconsistency on how BSEG stores data differently that Universal Journal. The reporting data is between these two causes issues.

Pros

  • The one main table of universal journal makes data analytics much easier than ECC
  • The new Margin Analysis looks like it will be a great solution, once the project concludes. I would like to have more information on Revenue Accounting and the features of this underlying profitability analysis and how it integrates with Fiori reporting
  • Since S4 has been implemented for 11 months, we haven't developed fully. The Fiori experience for reporting and the user interface is an exciting opportunity

Cons

  • Universal Journal and BSEG inconsistencies due to the way data is stored.
  • The integration with SAC and its use for reporting vs. Fiori reporting
  • The elimination of Report Painter/Report Writer
  • Universal Journal data with Margin Analysis will allow for more clear understand of customer profitability

ECC has an end of life and S4 has benefits for future business innovation.
