Overall Satisfaction with Snagit
I primarily use Snagit for creating images for the many internal web sites I manage. Snagit allows me to easily create images with the suite of tools provided. These tools offer the same power found in more expensive programs. I also use Snagit to document errors I may receive while working in programs, as this allows for easier reporting. Often I will create videos which can be used as a training tool. This is such a versatile tool that I can't image working without it.
- Creating PNG files with a transparent background so they can be used within any media (word processors, presentation software, web pages).
- Quick videos are easily created within Snagit. These videos are a valuable tool for training as users can refer back to them when needed.
- The output accessories are great too. This allows integration with popular software and storage solutions.
- It is a great way to document steps on a screen print. The stamps tool has predefined styles of stamps that automatically increment when pasted on an image. So the user doesn't need to create a 1, 2, 3, etc.
- Quick and easy way to resize an image to fit your project. Much quicker than using a more expensive software tool.
- It would be beneficial to work with different layers before you "flatten" the image as a final project.
- Expansion of the available stamps.
- More refined selection capability when doing a scrolling capture.
- The positive impact is the reduction in using multiple programs to do the job of Snagit.
- Cost reduction as a savings since Snagit is cheaper than many image processing tools, yet offers much of the same functionality.
- The tool is relatively easy to use, so it can be quickly integrated into your work environment. People will be up and running in a day or so.
Snagit is a powerful tool for the price you pay. Yet it offers many of the tools that are available in more expensive alternatives. The other expensive tools have a higher learning curve while Snagit can be mastered in a couple of days. Techsmith offers many online videos which show how to take advantage of their tools, so even if you don't use a feature often, you can always go back and view the tutorial as frequently as needed. Plus, they are always improving the product.
