Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds IP Address Manager

Used for managing all IPs in the US offices, but only the IT department manages it at this time.
It obviously helps us to keep track of IPs that have been assigned officially, and marginally helps us track down IPs that have been used without our sign off.
  • Breakout of IP Subnets to manageable folders/sites.
  • Tracking of IPs throughout the entire organization, common location for all source of truth.
  • Clear way of turning on/off the system auto change of status.
  • How users can request IPs, as the managers of the IP source of truth and assigners, we need to be able to customize the aspects of what the users can get. We want the users to tell us how many IPs they need, what the purpose is, and (if they are in the know) which subnet they need the IPs. Then WE get emails with the request and WE are the ones that assign the IPs, not the system, because today, the system will just GIVE the user the next contiguous X amount of IPs, and that doesn't always work for US.
  • Reporting/Alerting? When we are IN the IPAM we can see indicators that a specific subnet might be getting full by an indicator, but why don't we have something on the dashboard, or an email alert automatically at a certain % full? Or do we and we just haven't hit that mark yet?
  • More customization of the display in IPAM, the default view when looking at the subnets as either too much info, or maybe the pertinent info is off the screen and we have to scroll to see what we want, can we make a custom view here that is for everyone by default?
  • Being able to see our IP usage saves our team a lot of time in manually tracking down usable IPs on a daily basis.
  • Not being able to adequately assign IPs to other departments has been a slow down on some projects as we have to do several back and forth communications to narrow down scope and number of IPs needed.
Not really had to use support, I think I opened a support case once but it ended up being more of features requested than what the product was capable of doing at the time.
