Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds IP Address Manager (IPAM)

We use SolarWinds IPAM to keep track of our networks. By doing this we get a better view of what we have, where we have it, and how much of a network is used.
  • Organizing networks with site names.
  • Keeping track of what IPs are in use and what is using it.
  • Ease of use for DHCP scope management.
  • The feel of IPAM is a bit clunky.
  • Adding large number of sites at one time is a hassle, as there is little you can do to customize the labeling on individual portion of what you are entering.
  • We now spend less time searching for networks since moving from spreadsheets to SolarWinds IPAM.
Bringing in IPAM rather than WhatsUp let[s] us keep all of our monitoring in one tool, rather than have 2 or 3 additional tools that we need to switch between.
SolarWinds has always had great support and is generally pretty fast in resolving any issues we have.
Bring the interface into a more user friendly space.
Allow the user the ability to move root folders into other root folders. There are times when sites need to be combined into a new group and having to delete then re-add them is a huge pain. Make the popup screen for putting in information double the size so that you get everything in one window view rather than having to scroll.
SolarWinds IPAM is well suited for frontline IT workers to easily track down a user without having to log into a networking device.
IPAM is cumbersome when you have a large number of different sites as it becomes a pain to navigate. If it was modernized a little bit then this could change
