Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager
We use the template function to provide deployment for all devices in an MSP environment. It has also become the central record of truth for configs, and single point for updates of all devices.
- Configuration creating from the templating engine.
- Device backups and recovery.
- Device updates.
- NetConf support.
- Better resource planning for server.
- Driven down cost of change requests.
- Minimized time to build for complex devices.
SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager has a quicker turn-up time then Ansible, but in the long term, Ansible will replace the core templating of Network Configuration Manager. We will keep the backup engine and software update feature in Network Configuration Manager, but without API, it falls short on complex changes.
