SQL Developer is used for querying Oracle databases. It provides an easy way to get data from Oracle databases and also help monitor any issues within our IT department.
- Query Oracle Database and export data
- Provide quick overview of Database
- Use it to Run SQL Tuning advisor and custom reports for performance troubleshooting
- Quick to load and faster performance
- Ability to support setting of default schema on logon automatically
- Use thin JDBC LDAP URL instead of hard-coding server names in connection.xml. Currently, we need to use advanced and specify URL our selves.
- Positive as it is free and does the job.
- SQL Navigator and Toad for Oracle
It basically is a free tool and provided by Oracle and therefore continuously updated and supported and does not cost any money. That is why we selected SQL Developer.
