Overall Satisfaction with Teradata Vantage

We use Teradata Vantage for query optimization and workload management. This would include message traffic, monitoring, error recovery, space management, as well as continuity in systems where loads and queries are happening all day. Users use it for BI reporting, forecasting, and analysis of the queries that are run on a 24/7 basis.

  • Better performance when it comes to CPU utilization.
Teradata is by far one of the best in the business.

TV is well suited for high speed, which is a great for large tables. The workload functionality is very good when in Viewpoint. The BAR functionality could use a little work. QueryGrid is very useful as well. The client handlers are still a work in progress, as I keep hearing that they continue to fail. There are also many restarts on the systems as well.
