Overall Satisfaction with TestFlight
We develop and use our own apps for our social science research. To ensure that the data collected with them also provide meaningful data, we test the respective apps in alpha and beta tests with selected students. We have been using TestFlight very successfully for different test scenarios for three years.
- Invite users to test our apps.
- Collect valuable feedback.
- Sharing a public link to our apps.
- Involve a very large number of users.
- Provide live feedback.
- Changing email addresses of existing users.
- Limiting public links according to individual criteria.
- Using email to invite testers
- Collecting feedback by simply taking a screenshot
- Inviting large numbers of external testers
- A significant reduction in the cost of our alpha and beta tests.
- Consistently positive feedback in the support of test participants.
- Shortening the test cycles.
We chose TestFlight because of its ease of use and comprehensive control over the respective test environments. No other app could be so easily conditioned by our testers and nowhere have we received feedback on our apps so easily and directly. It was also always easy, straightforward, and intuitive for everyone to use, which significantly reduced support costs.

Evaluating TestFlight and Competitors
- Product Features
The set of features from TestFlight finally convinced us. However, ease of use and entertainment played a decisive role for us. After three years, we are still highly satisfied with our choice and the product.
In a repeat evaluation process, we would include multiple user groups earlier in the selection process. This would allow us to profitably consider the key requirements of the respective stakeholders right from the start and find a solution that leads to an optimal result. In our selection process for TestFlight, this did not happen to the extent that we would have liked retrospectively, but we are still very satisfied with the result.
