Pros and Cons

Intuitive UI
Good performance for pixel perfect reports
Multi-tenancy support

Very bad performance for Ad Hoc Views when working with medium to large datasets
Poor documentation of Domain creation and tuning
Official monitoring and instrumentation support is very limited

Alternatives Considered

Tableau Desktop and IBM Cognos

Jasper seemed to be a little behind in features and usability, but had better pricing.

Pixel perfect reports work very well, either embedded on a third party app or using the Jasper Server web app. Data discovery features like ad-hoc views should only be used for limited tests, and not as the primary means for reporting.

Jaspersoft - good value product. Excellent with pixel perfect reports. Not so good for Ad Hoc Views.
