Overall Satisfaction with TIBCO Jaspersoft

Pros

  • Embedding within the applications
  • Ease of use of API interaction
  • Robust security features to enable access control

Cons

  • Better charting and dashboarding capabilities
  • More flexible report designer, specially around being able to merge data from different domains
  • Faster performance
  • Self-taught
There are plenty of resources available that help you get started and then hone your overall skills on Jaspersoft. the community is very active and has a quick turnaround. The paid support is also great, but they could use more of live meetings to cut down on the back and forth.

Jaspersoft is well suited for applications that want to expose a reporting framework as an embedded feature. It allows a very seamless experience for the end users.

It is still not at par with the likes of Tableau or MicroStrategy in terms of visuals and the speed and ease with which the other platforms allow users to view data

Please encourage your colleagues to take advantage of these resources as well! Dynamic data visualizations are not Jaspersoft's strong suit, I will agree. Depending on your dashboarding requirements, you may want to look at TIBCO Spotfire. It is easily integrated with Jaspersoft and has more extensive visualization capabilities.
