Overall Satisfaction with TIBCO Spotfire
It is being used in all departments of the company. I have gathered all our back end data through SQL in a central facility with Spotfire. We have everything from our accounting, land, operations, production, geology, asset, & reservoir [data in the system].
- Automation of live data is very quick.
- Easy to get used to.
- Many ways to manipulate the data.
- Some limitations on several visualizations that cannot be done with Spotfire.
- Can create charts in Excel that cannot be replicated in Spotfire at this time.
- Speed and efficiency with large data-sets is somewhat lacking.
Similar product & price point. I didn't want to make the change due to comfort level already established with Spotfire.

Like any software there is a slight learning curve with the model. Once you understand how the data is loaded, visualizations are created, and calculations are formatted the rest is easy. It seems like I stumble upon something new every day due to collaboration with other users outside our company, etc.
