Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Spotfire to analyze patient data from different sources including all phases of clinical trials and marketed data. We develop visualizations and explore the data for analysis.

Pros and Cons

Analyzing the data is very quick.
We can easily identify the areas which we are interested in through visualizations.
We can automate the process by developing the visualization so it reduces repeated work.

Handling huge amount of data.
More online videos for understanding the critical topics.
Help button in Spotfire with detailed explanations regarding programming topics.

Alternatives Considered

We have used Excel based visualization tools. However, it is not flexible with Excel tools. After switching to Spotfire it is almost instantaneous and we can analyze the data in various ways.

The training was very interactive explaining with live examples and hands-on experience. And at the end of training, we have been provided with the required materials so it is very useful for future reference as well.

Online Training

The training is good, however, the audio is horrible. There is a lot that needs to be improved on the Spotfire side. It was very fast and the provider didn't even bother to explain a couple of questions.

Ease of Spotfire Training

Learning Spotfire is ok as long as you have installed Spotfire on your machine and with proper material. However, I strongly suggest taking in-person training with Spotfire so that you can understand numerous tool options.

Likelihood to Recommend

The heat map is widely used as it will help identify high probability risk areas. It is less utilized in creating regular listings, which are not very useful as Spotfire is more of a visualization tool.
