Overall Satisfaction with Tricentis Tosca

We're using Tricentis Tosca to automate all e2e tests. In a cloud solution and CI/CD instead run locally. Tricentis Tosca help us to build a full solution with a little effort and a very user friendly interface. In addition, is easy to work with daily results and create reports each days to control the current situation of project.

Pros

  • Scan and discover almost of elements and attributtes of them
  • User friendly UI

Cons

  • Dashboard to check results from ppl outside of team (managers for example)
  • Return on Investment
  • Easy and fast executions
  • very complete suite and integrates well with existing tools
In general, almost of common apps has an engine to use it. In case app doesn't have, Tosca has a complex engine to detect and check almost of elements.
In complex executions, with lot of requirements and several different cases to test, Tricentis Tosca is a great tool to automate this test so can be run in a CI/CD at night and check results in the next day.
qTest is the "brain" of the suite. You can use just Tricentis Tosca and can be enough to have results, but if you want have the management of executions, results and even manual test, this is your app.

Suitable: In applications where the code is complex, due to its powerful engine, which is able to detect almost any existing object without much problem.Also for very complex executions that need to review many requirements.
Less appropriate: Unit tests, since it is mostly designed for more complex tests and e2e.
