Overall Satisfaction with Tungsten Power PDF
Our firm frequently edits PDFs for monthly reports, quarterly reports, proposal packages, internal communications, and external correspondence. Tungsten allows us to quickly compile multiple PDFs into one report and rearrange them appropriately. We receive markups/edits from city/state agencies and can modify and edit according to their preference. However, the program is neither as user-friendly nor intuitive as Adobe PDF editor. Most staff in our office prefer to use an alternate editor and avoid Tungsten. The program often lags, does not pick up all objects easily, lacks many fonts for text editing, and is challenging to navigate through multiple documents open at the same time.
Pros
- Document organization when compiling multiple files.
Cons
- Text editing should be more seamless, typewriter function is a headache.
- Object highlighting should be more detailed, it often takes 3-4 tries to highlight an entire object and modify/delete it.
- Much cheaper for lifetime license for sure, but less intuitive than Adobe. Difficult to navigate.
The typewriter function is not user-friendly. Edit Object is inaccurate.
My CFO mandated Tungsten due to cost. I prefer Adobe, but no longer have access to it.
