Unique Learning System

I use Unique Learning System with my classes. I teach students with intellectual disabilities. We are able to differentiate learning with this curriculum so all students have a chance to learn. I have been using Unique Learning System for several years now, almost 10 and each year they get better and better with the learning work pages. The math has made great gains in the different lessons you can teach. The reading passages are strong and while some of the answers are a bit too easy, the advanced questions can really have the students thinking as they are not right there questions.

The Unique Learning System makes it much easier when creating lesson plans for the week, even the month. I especially like they way the lessons plans are created so on the days I need a substitute teacher I can leave the same lesson for the students to do and they are not stuck with "busy work" or something boring just because I needed the day off. This helps me feel more secure in what my students are doing for the time I am out of the classroom. The lesson plans are simple to follow and the general routine is the same for each lesson making it where the students know what is expected of them.

My students are all excited to start a different unit each month. The learning that takes place is a joy to experience. Students want to learn more about the topic and will ask what the next unit is to be about. Unique Learning System has been a great asset to my a classroom and the students really have a good time learning. We create the timeline for our class bulletin board each month and the look forward to seeing their work.
