Overall Satisfaction with Unique Learning System
I use Unique Learning System as my main source of curriculum for my English, science, history and transition curriculum. I do not have any or handle anything on the business side of the product for my district.
Pros
- Clear Lesson plans
- Great interface for my students
- Easy pacing guilds to follow.
- Amazing lessons
Cons
- I would like more/longer math lessons
- Would love for some type of reading test that will give you their level. Kind of like a star reading test schools do. It would be a great for assessments and IEPs.
- Love the transition passport but would love a electronic one where we assign them to the students.
- Students profiles have a section that keeps track of lessons/activities they have done that works towards their benchmark goals.
- Would like to auto assign students to my classes I create and not manually have to select them each time I assign through the planner.
- A math test that gives them a grade equivalency.
- Tons of time saved
- Great for writing present levels and creating goals around the curriculum.
I'm still not implementing all of these factors yet. I have taken what I know and done my own thing. Benchmarks and data could use some improvements.
High school IEPs focus a lot on creating a transition plan. The Transition passport is a one stop shop for creating this plan and has made that so easy for me. Parents love to see their binders and what they have been working on. We do a lot of role play scenarios with the transition passport lessons and my students really enjoy it.
