Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup for AWS
We have a hybrid on-prem and cloud VM infrastructure. Previously to Veeam Backup for AWS we had to outsource backups and management of our AWS servers which was less than ideal. They were stored separately and not part of our backup landscape. Veeam Backup for AWS brought all of our AWS servers into a single pane of glass so there was a central point for backup management.
- Allows central management.
- Removes the need for AWS scripting.
- Makes it easy to backup AWS instances back to on-premise.
- Failback could be more automated.
- Cost of Running the EC2 instance to run Veeam Backup for AWS could be prohibiting for smaller companies.
- Some AWS services are not included.
- Was much cheaper than outsourcing Backups to an MSP.
- Reduced ongoing storage costs as backups are coming back on-premises.
- Easy DR of AWS instances.
