Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used it to backup some reporting and small data source assets to the AWS cloud.

Pros and Cons

Learning curve wasn't too large
had fast speed
customer service was excellent

the UI could be more user friendly
documentation could be easier to access
the dashboard could be improved

Return on Investment

Integration with AWS means less resources to manage
instant availability of backed up application
time savings to restore during critical issues

Reliability and Availability

So far everything has been excellent and no issues. Our current data size is a bit on the small size, so we haven't restored based on a large data size sample yet.

Alternatives Considered

Cohesity DataProtect

Veeam's interface is excellent and much improved over cohesity.

Backup for AWS is good for assets that are already in the cloud. Assets that are hybrid might be too large and costly to backup into the cloud at the moment.
