Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365

For a full backup of all of our data stored in Office 365, we rely on Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365. This includes data from all of our users. Particularly in relation to the COVID epidemic, for instance, Teams was utilized an increasing amount; in this context, it is, of course, of the utmost significance that we also get access to these data in the event of an emergency.

Pros

  • Being able to look through many mailboxes of emails without waking up the user is a welcome convenience.
  • Going back in time is also a pleasant experience. So, let's say they were erased last month. I have access to emails going back years.
  • Using the mailbox search function, I was able to locate the quote and the customer's previous correspondence.

Cons

  • There should be a way to search all backup mailboxes, rather than having to select a specific date and then search.
  • Changing the computer's hostname doesn't make sense to me. It appears that Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is tied to the licensing of the software. This should be a separate issue.
  • As far as I could tell, the UI seemed a touch sloppy.
  • Gives us peace of mind by ensuring that we have a fallback plan in place just in case.
  • One day after purchasing a tiny Synology NAS from a used computer store, I was able to install the software on it.
  • This tool spares me from having to report misplaced mail to someone who can fire me.
Your 365 mails and OneDrive data cannot be backed up natively by Microsoft. When we needed to execute restorations, there was a void. Because Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 was the most cost-effective and user-friendly option, we decided to go with them.
The documentation for the setup is fairly simple to understand and follow. When exploring and attempting to do restorations, the user interface is really helpful and user-friendly.
My CFO misplaced key correspondence concerning perks from several years ago. Since then, we've been using the time period he gave me. In order for him to sift through the email and preserve only the messages he desired, I simply copied the data back into his original folder on his email account.
Due to the fact that I was involved in a legal dispute, I had to go through four separate emails in order to find any and all correspondence with the relevant firm. A PST file was created, and I gave it to our attorneys so they could go over it and transmit the information along. If I had to do it without Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365, that would be a nightmare scenario. It was a lifesaver.
Archive. The ability to go across time and retrieve emails that a person may have deleted over a year ago but which can still be retrieved. It just takes a few minutes to add a mailbox to the backup. To be sure the backup was successful, I just check my email every day.

We selected Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 as our backup software of choice due to our prior experience with the software and its intuitive user interface.
