Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365
We use Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 across our entire organization, as we have grown to multiple campuses in multiple states we shifted to a "decentralized" way of working using SharePoint, OneDrive, & Teams the primary locations for file sharing and collaboration. So maintaining a backup was critical as it helps safeguard against accidental deletion and allows us to archive off exited users with more confidence.
- Backs up the entire O365 environment (SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, Teams)
- Restoring data is a straightforward
- Easy to add users or locations to backup
- Setting up the backup to a NAS device was trickier than expected
- Removing users/licenses via PowerShell could be simpler
- More detail on what is bottlenecking the backup speeds
- The price per user is extremely reasonable, especially for the amount of data backed up
Hearing horror stories of users data getting lost or crypto-locked have always driven me to pursue off-site backups, and now that we rely on out O365 environment for day-to-day operations it was a no-brainer. We choose Veeam as the pricing was good and they are a leader in the Disaster Recovery space.
I have only needed to restore a few files so far, the process was simple.
We haven't needed to run more than simple file restores so far, but knowing there is greater flexibility in-case of a larger issue is welcome.
Being able to have multiple backup locations is great. I love that one product covers all locations where we are saving data.
The usability looked roughly the same and the price was better with Veeam.
