Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication

Backup of the entire Server and its VM.
  • Virtualized workloads
  • Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
  • NAS filers
  • Enterprise UNIX servers running Solaris & IBM AIX
  • Application-centric recovery using Veeam Explorers (for Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, etc)
  • “Instant” recovery or portability between platforms (physical > virtual > cloud-hosted)
  • Automating test restores to validate recoverability
  • Fast backup.
  • Easy and full restore.
  • Notification.
  • For our company's needs, the software does everything well.
I think around 100 workloads. They are more than the first approach of the software. When we watched the product our use of the VM's was very little. Now with this great backup solution we implement more.
  • Notification is better than Windows backup.
  • Time to restore and restore test.
  • Control of more customers.
Before using Veeam our backup was all in the hands of the customer, it was easy to forget to control and test the restore.
After the introduction of Veeam our clients are more satisfied because we can let them forget that to control the backup, and we can as IT Services providers control better and faster.
Unfortunately our organization and our customers don't have the dimensions to need the introduction of cloud environments.
For operating system, VM and also backups.
So I don't have experience with cloud environments.
We have absolutely benefitted from Veeam's comprehensive NAS/File-share backup solution for protecting unstructured data. Especially in small business organizations, Veeam uses NAS file shares as target destination for the backup.
First thing I think, is when I backup PCs for disk cloning or intense virus removal. First I always needed to open them and back up in another disk, but now I can simply create a copy of the PC on a NAS with Veeam and do all that I need. In case of problems, I can just restore. Simply and fast!
For physical servers with 2 or 3 VM's, Veeam Backup & Replication is perfect. In a standalone little server Veeam Agent is more appropriate.
