Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication

It's being used to backup virtual machines from my Hyper V server, as well as a desktop and laptop client device.
It ensures data is backed up to a seperate device to prevent data loss, and if the device or virtual machine fails, the machine can be restored entirely.
  • Virtualized workloads
  • Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
  • NAS filers
  • Enterprise UNIX servers running Solaris & IBM AIX
  • Enterprise applications such as Oracle or SAP HANA
  • Cloud-hosted VMs within AWS or Azure
  • None of the above
  • I don’t know
  • None of the above
  • Back up portable devices that are not accessible all the time
  • How easy it is to roll out of the client software on machines
  • Create snapshots / checkpoints for virtual machines from a hyper-visor
  • Local file backup / copying
  • An easier file structure for different backups from different devices
6 Virtual machines
3 physical machines
Less than I expected for the community edition. It would be great to backup all my virtual machines on my hyper v server, though it's not a major issue.
  • Positive - Given me ease of mind that all of my devices and VMs are protected if anything goes wrong.
My previous backup software didn't backup the machine, and only copied files if possible and couldn't do an entire drive copy, especially on the main C drive. Veeam helped with this problem and gave me confidence the entire device is protected, rather than the files on the device.
I do not utilise cloud workloads or backups.
This was a feature in my previous file backup software, so this was a nice basic feature to have.
Suitable for any sized business whether data is stored locally, in the cloud or just for home use.
