Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication

In the past we have used the licensed version of Veeam [Backup & Replication]. But since COVID and other cut backs, we no longer need the larger scale versions. Now we are using just the community edition [and it] gives us the option to use the best backup software at a free cost, [which is] [something] we need right now. Veeam [Backup & Replication] just works [and] [that's] all I have to] say about it. I have used many other products and Veeam [Backup & Replication] gets the job done and I do not have to worry about it. I have other things to get done besides [worrying over] backups.
  • Virtualized workloads
  • Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
  • Cloud-hosted VMs within AWS or Azure
  • Application-centric recovery using Veeam Explorers (for Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, etc)
  • “Instant” recovery or portability between platforms (physical > virtual > cloud-hosted)
  • Application-centric recovery using Veeam Explorers (for Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, etc)
  • It works, set it and forget it.
  • [The] restore [backup] actually works.
  • [The] support is amazing.
  • [Better] documentation on cloud backups.
  • [Better] walk through.
  • [Single] [VM] instead of [installing] on top of windows.
We have gone from [thirty] to [two] workloads [that was] only due to Covid, and moving some stuff to the cloud.
  • [The] free version saves us money while we were hurting from [Covid].
  • We have smaller workloads to [spend] money for backups [and] is a hard sell. This is free.
  • If we have a backup issue, Veeam [Backup & Replication] takes care it. It pays for itself in peace of mind.
Our previous backup software required daily maintenance to keep it working and had so many bugs [that] I was always fixing [it]. Veeam [Backup & Replication] just worked right out of the box and kept on working.
I started putting cloud backups into the cloud yesterday. It was a big to setup with Azure, but it is working now. This will help me have peace of mind.
I have used NFS for years as a backup solution to store my backups on. NFS just works with Veeam [Backup & Replication]. I just stared using [a] SMB to handle cloud backups and as of yesterday, it has been working.
Veeam [Backup & Replication] is best for a company who needs a backup solution where the IT staff is very busy and just needs the backup to work without babysitting it. It may not be best if you have only cloud servers.
