Veeam Backup & Replication
Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication
We've used Veeam products for a few years now, and implementing Veeam B&R for some of our VM infrastructure was a natural next step: the interface is familiar, and the features are robust. We brought in a reseller to help with some of the setup (and to help make sure we nailed the best practices), and it's been working seamlessly since then. The biggest thing we're currently waiting on is the ability to seamlessly back up and bare metal restore SMB shares; we've been told that comes out in v12.
- Virtualized workloads
- NAS filers
- In addition to back up, we also replicate some of these workloads
- Cloud-hosted VMs within AWS or Azure
- I don’t know
- None of the above
Pros
- Simple and methodical VM backups.
- Stable and well-supported.
- Robust monitoring.
Cons
- SMB bare metal restores (upcoming feature!)

Yes
Did Veeam Data Platform live up to sales and marketing promises?
Yes
Did implementation of Veeam Data Platform go as expected?
Yes
Would you buy Veeam Data Platform again?
Yes
We currently back up our on-prem virtual hardware, and recently increased that load by 50%. We have been very pleased with its performance thus far, and will likely continue to add to that load in the future barring any major price or feature changes. We hope to take advantage of more of the built-in options soon as well.
- Easy backup process.
- Intuitive interface.
- Robust support network.
Veeam Backup and Replication was our first choice and was recommended to us by a local reseller as well after we had done some digging on our own. We needed a stable and reliable backup option, and especially since we had some experience with a few of their other products, Veeam stood out.
We haven't taken advantage of much of the cloud support yet.
We are planning to take full advantage of these features when v12 comes out soon.
