Veeam Backup & Replication

Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform

We use Veeam Data Platform to backup all of our internal servers. It makes backup and restoration extremely easy, and it definitely gives us peace of mind. We have never had any issues when doing server restoration. It is a very solid product.
  • Virtualized workloads
  • In addition to back up, we also snapshot some of these workloads
  • Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
  • Application-centric recovery using Veeam Explorers (for Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, etc)
  • “Instant” recovery or portability between platforms (physical > virtual > cloud-hosted)

I don't know the exact count, but we are probably backing up somewhere around 40-50 virtual servers with Veeam Data Platform. Our infrastructure continues to grow, so this is more than we originally anticipated, but it scales extremely well.
  • It has allowed us to quickly recover from data loss caused by users.
  • The active directory restore features are amazing. It has saved us a ton of time restoring objects that were mistakenly deleted.
We didn't have a backup solution before Veeam Data Platform, and were relying on snapshots within our virtual infrastructure. A colleague recommended that we take a look at Veeam Data Platform, and the rest is history.
We have had very good luck with it in our virtual environment. I don't have a lot of experience doing physical backups on systems, but from what I have read it is pretty straightforward.
