VR, MailChimp and Constant Contact all provide similar experience and provide the same function. I use many different tools.
I think bulk mail creation, distribution and reporting has been refined to the point that most anyone can use any of the widely available tools to get excellent results. I have passed VR's marketing materials to colleagues.

Using Vertical Response

Vertical Response used to be the Gold standard for bulk email design and campaign management. Competitors, (MailChimp, Constant Contact, etc. ) now all provide comparable services and similar pricing. There's no clear advantage to any of them.

Evaluating Vertical Response and Competitors

Yes - I am well versed in MailChimp, Constant Contact, EventBrite and Vertical Response. They are all comparable.
