Overall Satisfaction with VMware ESXi
We are using VMware ESXI to leverage hardware resources to host multiple VM's across our organization and we are also hosting server vm's for subtenants. The servers are being used to host terminal servers and also being used by our organisation to host and stream applications to our mac's using parallels remote application server
- Low cost
- High end features included for the cost
- Easy to setup
- Great support
- Support can be complicated to understand at times
- obviously not designed for novices
- Mac osx support for management isnt the best
- Saved one company having to buy hardware all together as we were able to leverage unused resources on a subtenants server
- A lot cheaper in our use than a hosted server
- Caused some confidentiality issues but was able to be dealt with
- Alibaba Cloud Elastic Compute Service (ECS)
ESXI is a lot cheaper than than a hosted server. Having onsite virtulization was more cost effective. There are lot more features associated with hosted servers and alot more flexibility but in our use case it was not as cost effective so we went with VMware ESXi virtulization on site
