Overall Satisfaction with Vultr

Pros

  • ease of use
  • price structure and affordability. stable pricing
  • easy to impliment

Cons

  • there was a point in time where the datacenters networking had issues with particular spectrum routes. but that hasn't happened in over a year.
  • contract options with SLAs
  • they removed the ability to upload iso's, instead you have to post an ftp link
  • This keeps my margins where they should be, although for larger clients I actually do use another provider, just because they are very specific to the use. otherwise for smaller clients, Vultr keeps costs low which helps retain the proper margin
  • Their pricing has gone up 20% since I started using them, but they have improved the hardware as far as i am aware.
  • It's probably important to note, I only use Vultr for instances without a DE
Using Vultr is like having or supplementing your own cloud instance consultant. You could easily overspend on AWS or GCP for the same commits. Using Vultr negates the need to have a dedicated resource(s) to manage, combine, or virtualize multiple AWS/GCP instance.

To put it simply, Vultr makes cloud compute easily attainable for the common architect.
In theory yes, but I typically only focus on markets in the United States.

I could see it being helpful for many more customers, but not for my specific use at the moment.
CloudCo was not listed. In comparison, the pricing of the competition is in a place where I wouldn't retain any margin for smaller customers, that's why I use Vultr for those. Vultr's self serve interface and UI is much better and more customizable for the general architect. If I had to use the competitor, which could happen someday, I would need to increase my pricing to maintain proper margins.

Do you think Vultr delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Vultr's feature set?

Yes

Did Vultr live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Vultr go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Vultr again?

Yes

I've already suggested Vultr to others. I think Vultr has scalable options for everyone. Maybe at an enterprise level it would be better for someone to use AWS or GCP, but even then, they might overspend. Whereas Vultr has straightforward pricing.
